Finding musical identity through creativity

"Suzanne was a wonderful soloist to perform with while I was working with the University of Illinois Springfield Orchestra. She was extremely prepared, had artistic ideas for the piece, yet remained flexible and adaptable to our ensemble, the space, and the other ideas in the room. Her tone is radiant and conveys articulation and dynamic vibrantly. Suzanne is poised, professional, and always has a smile. It has been a delight working with her and I look forward to many more times to come."

Inspire by showing the creativity in others

Communication is a foundational pillar of my teaching philosophy. Aspiring musicians are amongst the most important students on any campus. The advancement of classical music and the performing arts are dependent on these young leaders and their commitment to the highest level of artistic and academic excellence. This excellence is achieved through the ability to combine craftsmanship of technical and fundamental practice, with knowledge and confidence of musical style and creativity and emotional expression. An artist’s ability to effectively communicate stylized ideas to their audience is among the most important skills for students to develop. Ultimately, artists are communicators. Success in the musical landscapes of education, performance, administration, and entrepreneurship are all tied to the ability to effectively communicate both personally and artistically.

Advocating Accessibility through Community Engagement

"Suzanne Segredo-Kundler is fabulous to work with! She provides a wealth of experience and knowledge to my clients here at Oboe Chicago. Her attention to each person’s needs and preferences as they select an instrument is directly connected to her own personal investment, dedication and commitment to her students, colleagues and her career."
